In a noisy, crowded marketplace, winning leads from marketing is one thing; turning those leads into paying, loyal customers is another.

To succeed, brands must adopt a slick, innovative approach that combines best-in-class tools, platforms and techniques.

It’s a major challenge – even for leading marketing automation tools like Brevo

That’s why, when it came to boosting their own marketing, the business turned to Make.

Using Make’s beautifully simple drag-and-drop interface, Brevo has automated more than 100 workflows –  turbocharging the nurture of leads from LinkedIn, Meta and Google and saving the team at least 16 hours a month.

Automating the automators

Brevo, formerly known as Sendinblue, is an email marketing platform that allows you to send automated newsletters, SMS, whatsapps and transactional mails.

The tool leads the way in CRM and email marketing thanks to its impressive automation functionality – but when it came to running its own lead gen marketing campaign, it needed automation superpowers.

That’s where the magic of Make comes in. With Make, it’s easy to automate processes that other solutions can’t touch.

“We love Make because it gives you the potential to automate anything,” says Brevo’s Senior Growth Marketing Analyst, Raja Keerthipati.

“Even the big specialist tools in marketing automation – like Klaviyo, HubSpot, Active Campaign and even Brevo – don't allow what Make allows.

“You don’t have to understand code or be a software developer – literally anyone can use it to get the benefits of automation.

“Our marketing team has been able to get great results with Make without requiring input from our in-house developers, who are busy with other projects.

“What used to take us a week can now be done in a couple of hours. The time saving is massive.”

From leads to loyalty delivering great results

One of the most powerful and innovative uses of Make by the marketing team at Brevo has been with its paid lead gen activity – especially on LinkedIn.

In the run up to Black Friday, a paid lead gen campaign was launched on LinkedIn using a free ebook as a lead magnet.

To ensure the asset was delivered in a timely and reliable way, a scenario in Make was used to collect the leads from LinkedIn and automatically add to a Google Sheet.

Every time a new lead was added to the spreadsheet, Make automatically transferred the data to Brevo, triggering an automatic email to deliver the ebook.

So far, so slick – but next came the really clever part.

To maximize the potential of each and every lead, Make automatically transferred lead information to Salesforce for follow-up from a sales rep and added the prospect to a targeted nurture flow within Brevo itself.

Raja says: “We didn’t have to rely on the paid acquisition team to pass on lead information. Using Make, we could instantaneously and automatically get started on nurturing the leads.

“We’ve been able to capitalize on some high quality leads and the results have been very exciting.

“We were so impressed that we used Make to do exactly the same for another ebook campaign, as well as paid lead gen via Meta and Google.

“It’s so much easier to nurture leads with Make. We don't have to export data or do multiple steps to add data and trigger scenarios. Everything is automated.”

Rapid review responses

Even the best businesses occasionally receive less-than-favorable reviews. When they do, a rapid, personalized response is essential – in fact, responses to reviews are now widely considered a vital brand touchpoint, and the right response can turn one-star ratings into five-stars.

At Brevo, the customer success team has been using Make to monitor and respond to reviews across multiple platforms.

Now, if a review with a lower-than-ideal rating comes in, Make collates the information and automatically creates a ticket in Zendesk.

It even automatically alerts the right people via Slack.

A member of the team is then able to very quickly jump in and respond to the review – maximizing the opportunity to turn negative feedback into positive.

Raja says: “With multiple review platforms online, it’s very hard and time consuming to stay on top of all feedback. Thanks to Make, this process is now super fast and it’s having a powerful impact.”

Automating marketing – and more

As the leading visual no-code automation platform, Make enables people in marketing, customer service and beyond to create powerful custom automations using an unique drag-and-drop interface, with no coding necessary.

It offers native integrations to 1,900+ apps alongside thousands of free workflow automation templates, which make it incredibly simple to streamline operations and save huge amounts of time – which, in Brevo’s case, is more than 16 hours every week.

Raja adds: “Make is a big time saver and it gives us increased visibility, too.

“Now, whenever we want to automate anything we think of Make. Make solves problems that otherwise couldn’t be solved.

“In the future, we have big plans and I know Make will help us deliver those.

“I’ve been using it for three years and there’s no going back for me.”
