How GoJob worked with Make to automate paperwork, evaluate new markets, and transform recruitment processes, cutting phone calls per successful hire from 50 to only 2.

  • Industry: Recruitment

  • Use cases: AI, process automation, work efficiency

  • Country: France, UK, US

GoJob, a French HR technology platform, helps clients find the best possible workforce while supporting individuals in their next career step. Their mission is clear: providing everyone with a decent job.

Thibaut Watrigant, Product Director at GoJob, shared insights on how no-code automation helped the company take a giant leap towards its mission in only 4 years. Initially using Make to automate COVID certificate distribution, GoJob expanded to implementing SMS conversations for candidate pre-screening.

“We tried other providers before, including Zapier and Parabola, but Make’s visual interface and error handling stood out. Incorporating Make’s AI into our core processes helped us enter the game and reach 5 to 10x higher return on investment for no-code projects.”

The challenges

Over the years of building a successful business, GoJob encountered several bottlenecks:

  • Eliminating administrative tasks: as a small business of around 200 people back in 2020, managing over 1,500 applicants per week was slowing them down significantly. Especially during the pandemic, when they had to distribute thousands of COVID-19 certificates.

  • Testing new market fit: In 2023, as the company grew, it wanted to expand to the UK and the US. That required measuring business tractions in different markets, and testing how their service would work abroad.

  • Speeding up core processes: GoJob’s recruiters were going through hundreds of CVs manually to choose two or three top candidates. It took hours away from talent acquisition professionals, rendering the processes tedious, repetitive, and ineffective.

The solutions

GoJob used Make to tackle each of these three challenges.

Automating document distribution via SMS

Every time GoJob found the right candidate for their clients, COVID-19 protocols required sending them a certificate for the new hire, proving that they were able to work. Instead of creating each manually, the company automated the file generation and distribution, sending the certificates automatically via SMS.

Replicating services abroad in record time

In order to validate the expansion to the UK and the US, GoJob used Airtable and Notion to replicate their service in both countries, investing only two weeks into the no-code development instead of the standard three months. Thanks to this, the company recognized that the UK market doesn’t work for them. Instead, they doubled their operations in the US, significantly boosting revenue.

“We realized we can use no-code to predict outcomes. I call it innovating intuition. Instead of starting from a problem and working our way up to a solution, with Make, we do the opposite. We think of solutions to tackle a potential problem before it happens.”

Using AI to innovate their recruitment process

Finally, to remove inefficiencies from core processes, GoJob created an AI workflow for pre-screening job applications. This involves an internal candidate database, generative AI (ChatGPT, Mistral), and SMS distribution via GoJob’s telco provider. The AI bot evaluates applicants’ suitability for a given role, asking them a series of questions via text messages. The bot then chooses two finalists and provides the CVs to human recruiters. This way, machines do the tedious work and recruiters can focus on the strategic part of their job.

The results

Tibeaut shared several impressive outcomes of their partnership with Make:

  • 30-50% increase in net revenue per year

  • 5-10 times higher return on investment for no-code projects

  • Phone calls reduced from 50 to 2 per successful hire

  • Hiring time decreased from 3 days to only 15 minutes (median)

Why are GoJob and Make the perfect match?

Over the course of several years, Gojob has developed from implementing one basic Make automation to building complex scenarios that all together consume 80 billion operations. For Thibaut, Make’s visual interface and seamless troubleshooting are major reasons why he loves Make. But the true game-changer is the ability to transform core processes – the very essence of Gojob’s business.

This is why Thibaut has a key message for other ambitious companies looking to leverage Make’s capabilities:

“Don’t be afraid to push the button. Start small but work your way up towards innovating the core of your business, even if it’s sensitive. If you won’t, your competitors will. And they will reach greater heights."
