The challenges
Like many new agencies over the last couple of years, Sommo was finding it tricky to stand out from the crowd and win clients in a competitive market.
This was made even more challenging by the agency’s bold no-code approach – which was met with skepticism by many prospective clients. The challenge was two-fold:
Build a unique, free client acquisition channel to help Sommo stand out from established studios.
Prove to clients that no-code solutions can deliver quality results quickly.
The solution
Sommo designed an unique AI-powered software requirement specification (SRS) generator to enable potential clients to jumpstart their projects before even meeting the team.
Using Make’s intuitive visual interface, Sommo developed and deployed the SRS Generator in just one day.
The solution consists of four modules:
User input collection: A form on Sommo’s website gathers app details, such as the main idea and purpose of the required app.
Processing with ChatGPT: User inputs are sent to OpenAI’s ChatGPT API to generate detailed app requirements, including product scope, product value, Intended audience and use, key functional requirements, performance requirements, external Interface requirements, and non-functional requirements.
Formatting the output: A Markdown module converts the AI-generated text into structured HTML for easy readability.
Delivery to the user: The final document is seamlessly emailed to users for review and next steps.
This process ensures prospective clients get a clear and instant roadmap, along with an indication of project costs. As Andrii explains:
“The first step of any project is writing the SRS. We decided to create a free AI generator to speed this up. We’d previously built a similar tool in Make - yes, we’re long-time fans! – so building the SRS Generator only took one day.”
