Facebook Insights

With Facebook Insights modules in Make, you can retrieve insights, create jobs, and retrieve job statuses and results.

To get started with Facebook Insights, you must have a Facebook account and an Ad account in your Facebook Business Manager.

Refer to the Facebook Insights API documentation for a list of available endpoints.

Connect Facebook Insights to Make

To establish the connection:

  1. Log in to your Make account, add a Facebook Insights module to your scenario, and click Create a connection.

  2. Optional: In the Connection name field, enter a name for the connection.

  3. Optional: Click Show advanced settings and enter your custom app client credentials. You must have a Facebook developer account to create these credentials. For more information, refer to the Facebook API documentation.

  4. Click Save.

  5. If prompted, authenticate your account and confirm access.

You have successfully established the connection. You can now edit your scenario and add more Facebook Insights modules. If your connection requires reauthorization at any point, follow the connection renewal steps here.

Common problems

Here, you can find solutions to the most common issues encountered while working with Facebook Insights in Make.

(#100) Missing Permission (100, OAuthException)

This error can appear when the Facebook module is loading data from your Facebook or Facebook Business Manager account.

You need to grant Make additional permissions in your Facebook account. To do it, follow the steps:

  1. Log in to your Facebook account.

  2. In the upper right corner, click your profile icon.

  3. Click Settings & privacy > Settings.

  4. In the left sidebar, under the Your activity and permissions section, click Business integrations.

  5. Find the Make app and click View and edit.

  6. In the pop-up window, select all the permissions and click Save.

  7. Log in to your Make account.

  8. In the left sidebar, click Connections, and find the connection that you use for Facebook Insights.

  9. Click Reauthorize.

  10. If prompted, reauthorize account and confirm access.

Error validating access token

This error indicates that your session in Facebook or Facebook Business Manager has expired, possibly due to a password change. To resolve it, reauthorize the connection in Make.

  1. Log in to your Make account.

  2. In the left sidebar, click Connections, and find the connection that you use for Facebook Insights.

  3. Click Reauthorize.

  4. If prompted, reauthorize account and confirm access.
